We know from so many seemingly unanswered prayers that He often allows the continuation of physical or circumstantial pain because there is something else He is doing in it.
This is beautiful, Kim. Can relate to so much you shared here. I too am beginning to see unexpected fruit and I look back and thank God for all the pain. It feels to me like it comes in ever-repeated seasons, when I look back too. Acts of trust without seeing where it was all going and then bam: unexpected fruit unfolding. Grateful for your words. They are always a gift.
"He was working behind the scenes in places too deep for me to see. The seed was germinating even as I complained (but made acts of trust in the midst of tears), and now it’s beginning to take root." I LOVE this! This gives me so much hope. Honestly, it is always an act of faith to believe that God is at work beyond what we see or feel or know. The image of the seed germinating is so powerful, as the acts of trust in the midst of tears. Thanks for sharing your writing.
Thank you so much, Emily! It's a battle. The long suffering and the waiting can both pull that hard fought trust out of us and drive us away, simultaneously. A bit of hope, a sprout if you will, is always so welcome because sometimes it takes everything to keep making acts of trust without that. It's good to have company, to have friends on the journey.
Glad to hear from you. Acknowledging God's silence as growth is difficult for all of us. Key your listening skills to the simple things, there His words are few. But He's there. Trust!
Thank you so much, Cathy! I so appreciate your encouragement! It's been good to see so many post from you lately! I need to catch up. Divine Intimacy is so beautiful - I'm glad you're sharing it!
